Carl “Doves” Thomsen, 84, of Glenwood, IL passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, May Cowser-Thomsen; daughters, Holly (Peter) Krug and Cristy (Jason) Strain; grandchildren, Grace and Charles Krug, Violet and Olivia Strain; brother, Reilly (Mary) Thomsen; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Catherine Thomsen; sisters, Patty Thomsen and Candy Niemiec. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 9:00-11:00 am at the funeral home. Carl was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He proudly served the U.S. Airforce and was a lifelong hunter and shooter. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Lurie Children’s Hospital, www.luriechildrens.org, in his memory would be appreciated.
