Dear Lorreta and Family, my condolences and prayers to you at the transition to deeper -living -in -the -Mystery -of -God of Carmen. All through his earthly life he went onward and upward. You were always there to walk beside him, support him, admonishing him, and love him into a true holiness. You both served Jesus and the people of God by volunteering your available time, your manifold talents and honesty and your treasure. I remember him from the first time I encountered him as I interviewed the St. Victor Parish in 2005. He challenged me in a strong and humorous, respectful manner. I love him and will miss him with regrets that I have not been a part of his and your life since retirement in 2012. I am unable to attend the wake and funeral due to a physical malady and an already scheduled funeral on Monday. You are all lifted up in my prayers especially as I celebrate the Eucharist, the great act of Thanksgiving act that makes Jesus alive and really present. Carmen embodied that. May his memory always be a blessing. Amen
