Carol was a proud mother of 3 awesome sons, Michael (Kristina), Marcus and Mitchell (Amy) Gutyan. Loving grandmother of Kylie, Ava, Matthew and Mikey. Funeral service will be private. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph-St. John Cemetery in Hammond, IN.

Dear Sons of Carol Jean:I was friends with your Mother since we were in grade school at IC in EC. She and I were best friends all these years. I did get to visit her one time in Schererville many years ago. I haven't lived in Indiana since 1968. I spent many nights sleeping over when she lived on Baring when we were in grade school and when we went to Bishop Noll. I loved her like a sister and when I got my Christmas card back just today (we are now stationed in Germany) I said to my husband. OMG, something happened to Carol! I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom. She loved you boys so much and talked about you and the grands all the time. She was so talented as a quilter and I am lucky enough to have one of her quilts she made me, years ago (a Christmas quilt). Once again I'm so sorry for your loss and mine.
