Catherine J. Luerssen, 62, of Munster, IN passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bill Howard; sons, Jasen (Ingrid) Howard, Patrick Howard and George Howard; granddaughter, Vivien Howard; mother, Joan Luerssen; brother, Tom (Norma) Luerssen; sisters, Mary Ellen (Steven) Polson, Susan (Kevin) Gross and Ann (Daniel) Frey; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank W. Luerssen. Visitation will be on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with a funeral service at 1:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Contributions to Wee Care Therapy, 440 Edmond Dr. Dyer, IN. in her memory would be appreciated.

I was a good friend of the Luerssen, especially Susan and spent a lot of time at their home and knew all the kids very well. I am very sorry for the families loss and my thoughts and prayers will always be with you

I am so sorry to read this. I also was a classmate from the same graduating class from MHS 1974. I remember her as being a very nice, soft spoken person with red hair and big brown eyes. As a matter of fact, she was voted "prettiest eyes" in the class. Most importantly, she will be remembered as being very kind. Her family and friends have my sympathy. I have not seen her in years but I remember clearly.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

there are no words I can write to express how sad I feel. Cathy was a force for good and love...she will be missed. I am blessed that I knew her. wishing only love and peace to Bill and the boys.

I am saddened at the news of the passing of Cathy. I knew her from elementary school through High School. I remember her beauty, her intelligence and her artistic talent. My condolences to her entire family.

I was in Cathy's MHS graduating class of 1973. Although I didn't know her well, I have warm memories of her kind and friendly nature. My sincere sympathies to the family. May God be with you in your sorrow.

So very sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful human being. With seemingly boundless energy and a terrific attitude. She will be missed.
