Celia C. Newcomb, 109 of Lowell, IN passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. She is survived by her children, Thomas (late Suncha) Newcomb, Ronald (Nancy) Newcomb, Donald (late Glory) Newcomb, Kathy (Donald) O’Brien, and Walter (Attilia) Newcomb; grandchildren, James (Beverly) Newcomb, Richard (Mary) Newcomb, Shannon (Coleman) White, Christian (Rachel) Newcomb, Jeffrey Newcomb, Brian Newcomb, Bretton Newcomb, Lori O’Brien, Amy O’Brien, Shawn (Suzanne) O’Brien, Lisa Newcomb, and Jon Newcomb; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; daughter, Sandra and parents, Walter and Etta Ruark; brother, Walter Ruark Jr.

Celia retired from the School City of Hammond after teaching for 24 years at Lafayette School. She was the former President of Church Women United of Greater Hammond and was a longtime member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Highland, IN.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 pm with a Funeral service at 6:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.
