Charles Edward Pfister, age 82, of Munster, Indiana, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015. Born November 4, 1932, in Racine, WI. Preceded in death by parents Frank & Elizabeth Pfister, sisters Eleanore Wilson and Elizabeth Cooke, and brothers Francis (Bud), Robert, and Richard. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Catherine; children Maureen (Laine) Cheever, Michael (Cyndi), Carl (Melaine), Matt (Carla), Chuck (Karen), Steve, Catherine (Scott) Campbell, Karen (Kevin) O’Malley, Kurt (Annette Shields), Patty, and Mark (Becky); 25 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. For 57 years, Charlie was owner and operator of Pfister's Barber Shop. He was an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church where he served as Eucharistic Minister and Boy Scout Leader. He was also the Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #1700. He was an accomplished wood carver, enthusiastic fisherman, golfer, bowler, and avid Cubs fan. He loved spending time with his family.Visitation is 2:00-7:00 pm Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Kish Funeral Home (10000 Calumet Ave, Munster).
