Charles U. Allen, 78, of Beecher, Illinois, formerly of Country Club Hills, passed away with family by his side on December 27, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Susan (nee Knickrehm), and his children; son, Scott (Tami) Allen; daughter, Stacy (Kurt) Larson; son, Corey (Amanda) Allen; and his pride and joy were his grandchildren; Brian, Gregory, Sam, Kaylee, Wesley, Amy, Zander, Quin, and Landon.
Chuck was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy where he served on the USS Intrepid and USS Independence.
In Chuck’s early years he was a firefighter and paramedic for the City of Country Club Hills. He then worked for the Cook County Forest Preserve until he retired in 2005.
Chuck and Sue purchased a lakehouse on Lake Shafer, near his brother Don, in 2006. The lakehouse was his happy place. He loved that his family was always together at the lake and made many memories over the years. Chuck was very proud of his home and that he could share this with his family.
The Captain of our boat will be deeply missed, until we meet again.
Chuck will be buried at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois in May of 2023. Details will follow at a later date.
