Skip may have been the most disagreeable man I ever met. In other words, no matter what you said, he always seemed to disagree. And Skip had a very sharp mind and was always able to marshal formidable arguments to support his position--Even when you suspected that he might not even believe it himself….Skip was also one of the most caring, sensitive people I ever met. If someone was in trouble – especially if he/she were an underdog – Skip was always the first to recognize it and lend a hand. Just as long as no one would find out about it and ruin his image….I met Skip in the 1980s as a lawyer for the Bank. Since that time, I have seen him pass up numerous opportunities to earn large sums of money in order to protect his customers, community and staff. I have also seen him make extraordinary efforts to protect people who were going down a bad path. Just as long as no one would find out.…Skip could definitely be a pain; don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. But he was also an extremely intelligent, sensitive, caring and giving human being. His character and integrity were unimpeachable. Skip was a rebel, but only for just causes. Skip was unique and irreplaceable. Skip impacted a lot of lives and the world is a poorer place without him. But don’t tell anybody; he wouldn’t want you to ruin his reputation….

To Denise, Mike and LeeAnn:Our deepest condolences to a family that we knew for so many years. Skip was a wonderful guy and he stayed in our memory for the longest time in spite of the distance and decades that we did not see him. I remember his casual and relaxed smile and his warmth of his personality. May God him grant the best place in Heaven! With love, Nick Sorak, Lillian Nguyen and her family.

As one of Mike's best friends growing up, I consider Skip a second father. To me, his sense of humor uniquely expressed his love and affection, and I am honored to have had him in my life.
