It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Steven Carrillo, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who left this earth on September 5, 2026. He was born on November 11, 1989, in the vibrant city of Chicago. Daniel was the cherished son of Leticia and Ignacio Carrillo, who raised him with love and instilled in him the values of kindness, integrity, and dedication.

Daniel’s life was one of purpose and passion. His career as a Foreman for The Calumet Memorial Park District was not just a job, but a testament to his love for the outdoors and his commitment to community service. He took immense pride in his work, inspiring those around him with his unwavering dedication and hard work.

He was a spirited soul with a zest for life that was infectious to everyone he met. An avid traveler, Daniel found joy in exploring the world, seeking adventure, and embracing the beauty of nature. His love for Disk Golfing and professional sports was known to all, but it was his gentle and loving manner that truly set him apart. His ability to bring people together was remarkable, and he was often the life of the party, ensuring that laughter and camaraderie filled the room.

Daniel’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. His gentle spirit and loving nature were a source of comfort and strength to those who knew him. He leaves behind his devoted parents, Leticia and Ignacio Carrillo, his loving sister Janet, his brother in law Leo, and “his girls” Elena Olivia, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by Carmen Saldaña, Carmela Carrillo, Elia Carrillo, Antonio Saldaña, Refugio Alvarez, Lupe Campos, and Jose Alfredo Alvarez, who are now reunited with him in eternal peace.

Daniel’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and a life lived to the fullest. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him and were touched by his spirit.

Danny will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the stories, memories, and love that he leaves behind.

Danny had so much life and energy. I remember one time at SLS, we were in a van returning from off campus and had just gotten to the bottom of the hill. Danny was arguing with the faculty who said if Danny didn’t stop he would make him walk up the hill. Danny said something like “Do it, I bet I beat you all up there.” And he almost did!! Driver has impressed, because Danny was actually keeping up with us. He was quick to laugh, goof off, and to join in the revelries. It’s hard to think he’s gone. Rest in peace Danny, may you take rest in God’s loving embrace.
