David James Kipta, age 61 suddenly passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023. David was a bright smile to all those that new and loved him with his kind and caring soul, his entrepreneurial spirit and his keen talents which will be sorely missed.
David grew up in Munster Indiana, son of John Paul Kipta and Jean Rita King. He graduated from Munster High School in 1981 and then went on to earn a B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Purdue University NW. He also gained an Engineer Degree in Brewing Chemistry from The American Brewers Guild in 2010. He worked at NIPSCO for many years as well as Constellation Energy prior to moving to White Cloud MI where his dream was to build a house on a lake, which he completed. He loved fishing, sitting on the beach after work, growing his garden and grilling. All that knew David knew he had a compassionate heart, would scoop up a lost cat and take care of it and always thought of others before himself. He had an abundance of hobbies including collecting restoring vintage cars, collecting and playing electric guitars, grill master, gained his Certification as Brewmaster and enjoyed making his own original beer. He was an honest man with a wonderful sense of humor, an uncanny talent for making the best “David’s” Chicago deep dish pizza and he’d often bring extra in to work for everyone to taste. David was currently working on refurbishing and opening a small restaurant in White Cloud named The Chill n’ Grill.
David is survived by his sister, Diane (Kipta) Scott, and her husband Dr. Paul Scott, and was close with his niece and nephews Troy and Trent Sidabras and Stephanie Scott; and his brother John A. Kipta and his wife Bridget along with his children John, Mary and Cathy.
