David Roth Mandel, 93 of Munster, IN passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Esther; daughter, Linda (Jonathan) Shalen; grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Shalen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Marvin Asher; dear cousin, Idie Friedman; several cousins, nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Gussie Mandel; brother, Harold Mandel; sisters, Mildred Dickenson, Eleanor and Miriam Mandel. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be at Kneseth Israel cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM. David was the owner of Mandel’s Reliable Furniture in Hammond, IN. He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel and the Jewish Federation. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Congregation Beth Israel in his memory would be appreciated.
