Deborah was a Registered Nurse with Methodist Hospitals for the past 14 years. Born in Bristol, England and raised in Cardiff, Wales, Deborah J. King was an extraordinary person, wife, mother and registered nurse. Respected and loved by everyone who met her even briefly, she was a friend and inspiration to all whose lives she touched. Filled with dignity, grace and compassion, she was a selfless humanitarian and loving woman. Always putting others first and caring little about herself, Deb could be counted on to help anyone in need or provide comfort to those who were troubled. The biggest heart to ever walk the face of the earth, she will be always remembered for her kindness, her devotion and her loving nature, her warm smile and her hearty laugh. A lover of life and all its gifts, Deborah lived several lifetimes in her short 56 year stay with us. Always ready to joke, play and have a great time, Deborah was the life of the party. She had a great charm, wit, intelligence and a keen understanding and insight into people. Adored by her loving husband, sons and family her loss is devastating. She is irreplaceable, not only to her family and wonderful friends who span the globe, but with her loss the world is diminished because her smile, her voice, her love and compassion which were truly unique are no more. Sweet, sweet Deborah, you will always be with us. Flowers accepted but donations in Deborah’s name preferred to either the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure (breast cancer) or to a fund to be set up in Deborah’s name for nursing education at the Methodist Hospitals, Merrillville and Gary, Indiana.
