Debra J. Schmueser, age 65, of Munster passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023.She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Michael and daughter, Patricia. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Patricia Paveichevich, mother-in-law Shirley Schmueser and sister-in-law Joanne Elsner.

Friends can meet with the family on Tuesday, May 2, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Kish Funeral Home located at 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN.

Debbie worked as a waitress for many years and that is where she met her husband, Michael. She was a stay-at-home Mom for many years and helped take care of her niece and nephew. Debbie was always on the go with the kids for school drop off, practices, games, activities, Munster pool – making sure they kept busy but had the best childhood possible. She loved having all of her kids around – even if you were a friend of her daughter / niece / nephew, you were one of her kids and always welcome at her home. She loved holidays the 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas – she made these holidays very memorable for everyone around her. Debra went back to work in the Payroll and Human Resources Department for almost 20 years at Steppo Supply and Construction in Lansing, IL. Debbie always had a way to make jokes whenever she could and always had a way to make people laugh. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend, she will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
