Dennis R. Halfacre

Dennis R. Halfacre, 75 of Munster, IN passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bessie (nee Oakley); son, Robert Halfacre; daughter, Sandi (Jerry) Moore; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Roger Oakley and Jim (Annette) Wolfe; special friends, Arlyne, Jose, Anthony and Andrea Gonzalez; preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Mary Halfacre; Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 PM with a funeral service at 7:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be private at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Dennis sang with the Northwest Indiana Symphony Chorus and the Whiting Park Festival Chorus. He was a member of the Munster Lions, McKinley 712 Masonic Lodge and active in several local and community organizations. Prior to joining Westminster Presbyterian Church, he served as music director, deacon and treasurer at the Hoffman Street Baptist Church in Hammond, IN. He retired from Inland Steel after 36 years and then worked for Kipin Industries for 8 years.
