Diane Ellison-Haak passed away at her home suddenly on April 30, 2013. Diane is survived by Russ Haak and siblings Debra Ellison, Tomi Ann (Joseph) Alfieri, Kevin (Mike) Ellison & Thomas Ellison, Aunt Cindy Ellison Badten, Aunt Wilma (Joseph) Ellison, Uncle Clinton Ellison, Nephews Ryan Gailmard, Sean (Gina) Gailmard, Jordan (Nina) Ellison, Nicholas Alfieri, Peter Ellison,James & Parker Ellison, Niece Elizabeth Ellison and numerous great nephews, a great niece and cousins. Preceded in death by parents Thomas & JoAnn (Bubonovich) Ellison, siblings Timothy Ellison, James Ellison & Brian Ellison. Maternal Grandparents Thomas & Helen (Dabies) Bubonovich, Paternal Grandparents Clinton & Edith (Knapp) Ellison, Uncle Joseph Ellison & Aunt Barbara (Ellison) Kahn. Born on May 16, 1958 Diane was the 4th of 8 children. Diane attended St. Thomas More Grade School & Munster High School. A graduate of Purdue University, Lafayette, IN. Diane held a variety of jobs throughout her life at Calumet National Bank, Student Teaching, Munster Donut, Butterfingers, Key Market & Zeldenrust Farms. With a passion for animals, the highlight of Diane's youth was receiving her horse, Tursk. She loved to ride and spend time at the stables. Diane was able to keep all who knew her in stitches with her sharp, quick wit…simply put she was hilariously funny. Diane was a walking encyclopedia of information about nutrition, vitamins and food…so much so that others would randomly come up to ask questions sensing she \”knew\” the answers. Diane loved county music and was hoping to visit Nashville, Tennessee to attend the Grand Ole Opry. She loved to travel to warm climates and enjoyed cooking, gardening, walking and reading. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Monday, May 6 at 7pm at Kish Funeral Home located at 10000 Calumet Avenue, Munster.
