Dionisios “Dennis” Plarinos, 80, of Schererville, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, June 28, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dionisia “Soula”; daughters, Magdalene Plarinos and Angela (Nick) Loxas; grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Niko, Matthew, Alexandria, Dennis, Gabriel, Margarita and Johnny; many siblings, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Panayioti and Magdalene Plarinos; daughter, Nektaria “Rula” Calderon; brothers, Spiro and Dimitri “Mimi”; sister, Lambroula Gouskos. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM with the Trisagon Prayer service at 5:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM St. Constantine and Helen Cathedral, 8000 Madison St. Merrillville, IN. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Dennis was born in Pigathakia, Zakynthus, Greece on August 10, 1934. He spent numerous years in Montreal and California owning and operating restaurants. He settled in Indiana where he enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren.
