Donald F. Rising, 92, of Calumet City, IL passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018. He is survived by his children: Barbara (Maynard) Beck and Joseph (Debbie) Rising, sister Dorie (late Bert) Benamati, daughter in law Bonnie Rising, grandchildren: Maynard Jr., Brian, Kevin, Brianna and Jessica, also seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Don is preceded in death by his wife Pauline, son Donald Jr., infant daughter Mary Elizabeth, great grandson Michael and siblings Joe, Bob, Roselma and Betty. Don was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Republic Steel and the Calumet Memorial Park District. Don enjoyed coaching Calumet City Little League and Babe Ruth. He was an avid bowler and cubs fan and enjoyed his daily walks. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, 801 Michigan City Rd., Calumet City, IL 60409. The family of Don would like to extend their gratitude to all who cared for him.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Don Rising Scholarship Fund, c/o Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN 46321.
