Dorothy A. Schmidt, 95 of Dyer, IN formerly of Hammond, IN passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013. She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Roger (Mary) Munzel of San Antonio, TX and Warren Munzel of Seattle, WA, Kenneth (Alberta) Schmidt of Dearborn, MI, Arnold (Ann) Schmidt of Hammond, IN, Philip (Susan) Schmidt of Cold Spring, KY, Ted (Martha) Schmidt of Loveland, CO, Kathy (Marshall) Jowers of Waukegan, IL, Carl (Debbie) Schmidt of Highland, IN and Jim (June) Schmidt of Kouts, IN; great niece Jennifer A. Munzel of San Antonio, TX; great nephew, Jeffrey (Wendy) Munzel of Dallas, TX; preceded in death by her husband, Ervin. Funeral service will be on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 8601 Harrison Ave. Munster, IN. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be at Concordia Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Dorothy was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area and was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the church in her memory would be appreciated.
