Dorothy Jurkash (nee Rossi), 82, born March 28, 1928, she passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Beloved wife for 53 years of John Jurkash; loving mother of William (Sherry) Jurkash, Catherine (Thomas) Newman, Therese (late Cyril) Moran, Anthony (Doreen) Jurkash, John (Sharon) Jurkash, Jacqueline (John) Popravak and Stephanie (Richard) Goetz; loving sister of Genevieve (late Dominic) Marco, Elizabeth (late Joseph) Arlow and James (Dorothy) Rossi; loving sister in law of Mary (Romeo) Buoscio, Michael (Patricia) Jurkash, Peter (late Helen) Jurkash, Anne (Robert) Czaszewicz and Elizabeth (late James) Gotovac; beloved grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews; She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Novak and sister, Ralphina (late Francis) Gornick. Visitation will be on Friday, October 22, 2010 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and Saturday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church, Fr. Michael Yadron officiating; Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Dorothy retired from the Chicago Board of Education and was a member of St. Florian KSKJ Lodge #44 and St. Thomas More Seniors. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Chronic Disease Fund (www.cdfund.org) or Hospice of the Calumet Area in her memory would be appreciated.
