Dr. George J. Parker, age 67, passed away peacefully December 16, 2008, at his home in Munster, Indiana. A graduate of Campion of Prarie de Chien, WI, George then went on to graduate from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1967. From 1967-1969, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War as a dentist and achieved a rank of Lt. Cmdr. George then returned to Northwest Indiana where he opened his own dental practice, to which he devoted 38 years until his retirement in April, 2007. George was a member of the Indiana Dental Association and past president of the Northwest Indiana Dental Society.George is survived by his three children, Kyle and Lauren of Munster, and Amy of Indianapolis, and loving sister, Mary (Michael) Kallok of St. Paul, MN. He is also survived by dear relatives, James and Dorothy Wader of Chicago, IL, and dear friends, Dr. George and Maryann Batcho of Highland, IN. George was a fond uncle and friend to many.George is preceded in death by his dear wife, Kathleen (nee Kolodziej). He was also the beloved son of the late George J. and Rose (nee Kiernan) Parker and loving brother of the late Michael (late Jacqueline) Parker and the late Rose Anne (Robert) Huppenthal. Visitation will be held on Friday December 19, 2008 from 3:00-8:00 PM at the Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN. Funeral service will be Saturday December 20, 2008 at 11:30 AM from the funeral home with a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maria Goretti Church, Dyer, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph Carmelite Home for Girls, Hospice of the Calumet Area or the Share Foundation in his memory would be appreciated.
