March 5, 1928 - July 18, 2011

Dr. Gilbert V. Carter, 83 of Schererville, IN passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Carter; daughters: Claudia Carter-Piegza and Sandra (Tony Weyhe) Carter; grandchildren: Christopher Piegza, Lindsay Piegza and Maddie Weyhe; sister: Dorothy Tennes; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 3:00-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 3:30 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Thursday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave Munster, IN with Fr. Michael Yadron officiating. Interment will be private. Dr. Carter was a practicing Orthodontist in Merrillville, IN for the past 52 years and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a charity of your choice in his memory would be appreciated.
