Earl W. Rice, 98 of Munster, IN passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wives, Charlene Rice and Milly Rice. He is survived by his sons, Joel (Sharon) Rice, James (Annette) Rice, Charles (Gina) Rice; daughter, Laurie (Michael) Salemi; several grandchildren.

Earl grew up on a farm in Wanatah, IN. He served with the U.S. Army and then moved to Northwest Indiana where he made of life for himself and his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Interment will be at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 29, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. and on Monday from 9:30-10:00 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Lions Club (www.lionsclubs.org) in his memory would be appreciated.

It is a sadness to say farewell to my Great Uncle Earl. I hope his final days were peaceful and free from suffering, and that he felt the presence of those who loved him. I am one of Wayne Rice’s granddaughters—my father is Cliff Rice. Though I have been far away, I hope I have not become a stranger to the family. Sending my condolences to everyone who loved him, and wishing comfort to all who are grieving his loss. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
