Edward J. Strbjak Sr, 84, of Munster, IN passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. He is survived by his sons, Edward (Kim) Strbjak, James (Sheryl) Strbjak and David (Michelle) Strbjak; daughter, Patti (Tim) Boyle; grandchildren, Matt, Kevin, Chris (Molly), Jeff (Alyssa), Abby, Mark, Zachary, and Jacob Strbjak; Alyssa (Stephen) Borkowski; Bridget and Ryan Boyle, sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Lorraine Strbjak. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Louise Strbjak in 1996; several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at the Carmelite Fathers Monastery, 1628 Ridge Road, Munster, IN., at 10:00 am with open viewing prior to mass at 9:15 am. Interment will be at St. Joseph-St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Edward was a member of the Knights of Columbus Pope John XXIII Council #1696 in Whiting, IN; First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Branch #81. He retired from Lever Brothers in 1990 and served for many years on the Board of Directors of Lever Brothers / Unicorp and Whiting Refinery Credit Unions. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of the Calumet Area or Carmelite Fathers Monastery in his memory would be appreciated.
