Edward S. Novak, 79 of Lowell, IN passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Shirley (nee Laskarin); Loving father of Kurt (Marie) Novak, John (Janet) Novak, Patricia (Jeff) Hunt, Robert Novak, Kimberly (Tony) Beshears, Christopher (Karen) Novak, Cynthia (Beth Krebs) Novak and Anthony (Cari) Novak; cherished grandfather of 18 and great grandfather of 5; fond brother of Dorothy Kornelik, Mary Nitz, Lillian Maciejewski, Chester Novak, Frank (Christine) Nowak and Walter (Delores) Novak; numerous nieces and nephews; Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sophie Nowak; sister, Delores “Dolly”, brothers, Stanley and Joseph. Visitation will be on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Saturday 1 hour prior to service at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:30 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Interment will be private at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN at a later date. Edward was a member of Just for Fun Ukulele Strummers as the Photo and Soundman. He also played the Ukulele and sang. Ed served with the US Army during the Korean War, Stationed in Germany. He was a member of the VFW Post 6841, St. Edward Church and Knights of Columbus in Lowell. IN.
