Edward Walczak of Munster, IN passed away on November 16, 2017. He was born in Gary, IN in November of 1933. He graduated from LaPorte High School and from Indiana University with a degree in accounting. Ed is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Janice; sons, Edward (Janis) and Ken; and grandchildren, Marissa and Sam. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Anna Walczak; and his sister, Joan Bernacchi. Ed’s extensive career began as an Auditor for United Airlines until O’Hare opened up, and then he became treasurer at Citizens’ Federal Savings and Loan. He worked in Real Estate and Insurance Brokerage and later in the FDIC Department of Liquidation. He also was employed as a Licensed Certified Residential Appraiser, having completed over 6000 appraisal reports. He was happiest when he worked as an independent real estate appraiser. Ed was active in the Highland Rotary for many years. He was a member of Fitness Pointe in Munster, IN since day # 1 of its existence until July of the current year. He was a faithful presence every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for three hours a day. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. On Tuesday, November 21, at Kish Funeral Home visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:15 a.m. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS. You may make a donation to the Far Horizon Program at the Adler Planetarium.
