Edwina Poludniak, age 83, of Schererville, IN entered into the presence of the Lord on April 21, 2025. Edwina was born on December 18, 1941, in East Chicago, IN to the late Jeff and Frances (Maryianowski) Blake. Edwina was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School and attended Sawyer College of Business. In 1968 she married Daniel Poludniak. She also worked at Bishop Noll High School, but her most important job was being a mom, wife, and grandmother who was a fierce advocate for her family. Edwina enjoyed traveling, crocheting, reading, and scrapbooking. Edwina’s passion was volunteering her time with various organizations that carried the mission of providing support, education, and research services for children and adults with disabilities.

Edwina is survived by sons Jeff and Scott (spouse Stephanie), grandchildren Carson and Tatum, sister Kathleen (Ivan) Davis, and many nieces and nephews. Edwina was preceded in death by parents Jeff and Frances Blake, her husband of 54 years Daniel, and sibling Carol (late Kerm).

Visitation Thursday, April 24th from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 26th at 12:00 p.m. directly at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN. with Reverend Michael J. Yadron officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery / Mausoleums, 801 Michigan City Rd, Calumet City, IL.

Edwina supported many charities with her time and donations throughout her life, so the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to help a charity of either your choice in her honor, or Mercy Home For Boys and Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60607.
