Eileen (Barton) Fromm, age 97, of Munster, IN passed away on March 18, 2024. Born in Chicago, IL on February 4, 1927 to Max and Sarah Barton, Eileen was the beloved wife and best friend of Jerry Fromm who preceded her in death. She was the devoted mother to Barbara (late Tom) Quinlan and Gayle Alderson, the cherished grandmother to Matthew (Cyndi), Michael (Lanie), Daniel (Jillian), Sarah (Jason), and Max (Siri), and great grandchildren Tyler, Zachary, Jack, Abigail, Sofie, and Jeremy.

Eileen worked at Taylor Forge in Gary, IN before assuming the role of her husband’s partner in their Gary business, Fifth Avenue Supply. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel and the Jewish Federation. Eileen loved traveling with her husband, wintering in Boca Raton, FL, hosting holiday gatherings, and playing mahjong and poker. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

The family would like to thank Eileen and Jerry’s special caregivers, and the staff at Hartsfield Village for the care they provided over the past several years.

While her passing marks the end of an era for the Fromm Family, Eileen leaves behind a legacy of love and caring. Eileen and Jerry’s marriage of 73 years was an inspiration to many, filled with respect, devotion, and affection. We will cherish the memories and retell the stories, keeping them close to our hearts.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
