Elaine N Pellar left this world to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her three children. Elaine lived a big, beautiful life of 94 years.  She was born on July 25,1930 to Martin and Nell Pierson in Hammond, Indiana. She later moved to southern Michigan where she grew up simply and often recounted tales of life on the farm. In 1949, she married the love of her life, Joseph Pellar. Over their 57 years of marriage, Elaine guided and supported her husband as they founded Crown Corr (which has now become one of the top specialty contractors in the country),  Omni 41 Health Club and Triple J. Bingo and Casino in Henderson, Nevada. While her husband was the public face of the business, Elaine was the quiet strategist; helping with decisions, refining ideas and ensuring the financials stayed strong.  She never sought credit or recognition, and no one could outwork her.  Elaine had three children: Russell (Ann) Pellar, Richard (Sandy) Pellar, and Jolaine (Tim) Dwyer.   They along with her 8 grandchildren and now 19 great-grandchildren were truly her world. Elaine would often say, “Family is everything.” Her family knew going to Mom, Grandma, or Gammie’s house meant you would leave with a new poem, a full stomach, a life lesson, and a heart full of love. Along with love of family, Elaine had a deep and abiding adoration for animals, especially those without a home. Over her 94 years, stray cats and dogs always found a gentle hand and a warm heart in her care. If desired, donations can be made to Humane Indiana in her name in lieu of flowers. Along with her three children Elaine is survived by her eight grandchildren: Katie (Brandon) Hurey, Kelly (Matthew) Glaros, Joseph (Laura) Pellar, Emma (Austin) Glass, Adam (Jenna) Pellar, Stephanie (Logan) Patterson,  Nick (Danae) Pellar, and Michael (Brooke) Hayes and her 19 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Nell Pierson, her husband Joseph Pellar, her brother Richard Pierson, daughter-in-law Ann Pellar, and son-in-law John McCormack.

Visitation will take place at Kish Funeral Home located at 10000 Calumet Avenue, Munster, Indiana on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:00 am at Family Christian Center Church, 340 45th Avenue, Munster, Indiana with Pastor Stephen K. Munsey officiating.  Entombment will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Indiana.
