April 6, 1960 - June 17, 2011

Elizabeth M. Gonzalez-Avila, 51 of Munster, IN passed away suddenly on Friday, June 17, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, John Avila; children: Melissa A. Avila and John Avila Jr.; father: Romualdo “Ray� Gonzalez; brothers: Louie (Martha) Gonzalez and Richard (Janet) Gonzalez; sisters: Patricia (Rick) Quiroga, Teresa (Rueben) Pedroza and Anita (Steve) Rogers; mother in law: Dolores Avila; sister in law: Rosemary (Jose) Rivas; numerous nieces and nephews; She was preceded in death by her mother: Beatrice Gonzalez and her father in law: Juan A. Avila. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. with a prayer service at 3:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with Fr. Rick Holy officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Elizabeth was a member of St. Thomas More Church as well as a teacher’s aide with the school. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society and Respect Life. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
