Eric B. Baumgart, 87 of Lansing, IL passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Beloved husband for 12 years of Phyllis (nee Ludkowski); loving father of Catherine (Thomas) McCabe, William Baumgart and John (Sharon) Baumgart; cherished grandfather of Sarah, Tim, Brooke, Allison, April, Eric, Anthony and Serena Rae; fond stepfather of Kathleen (James) Bubis and Colleen (Michael) Wagner; caring step-grandfather of Samantha Wagner, Jennifer and Laura Bubis and 1 step great grandchild on the way; devoted brother of Albert (Florence) Baumgart and Lydia Baumgart; preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Helen; son, Robert and daughter, Julia; Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 2012 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and Saturday from 10:30-11:00 AM. Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 PM from St. John Church, 301 S. Cottage Grove Ave. Glenwood, IL. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL. Eric proudly served with the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from the Thornton School District in 1988. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/tribute, in his memory would be appreciated.
