Ernest G. Caputo, 91 of Dyer, IN formerly of Burnside and South Holland, IL passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013. Beloved husband for over 67 years of Lena (nee Frangella); loving father of Sandra (Charles) Janssen and Carol (Howard) Heffley; cherished grandfather of Doug and Nikki Heffley; fond brother of Tulio (Georgeanne) Caputo and Tony (Mary Ellen) Caputo; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Friday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Ernest served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from Cyclone Blow Pipe. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 73, St. Maria Goretti Church, the Italian Club of St. John the Evangelist Church and Lansing Country Club. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care given to Ernest by Beth and Heather of VITAS Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Maria Goretti Church, in his memory would be appreciated.
