Ernest “Skip” J. Komorowski

Ernest J. “Skip” Komorowski, age 79, of Saint John, IN, passed away on Thursday, July 27th, 2023, at Franciscan’s Hospital in Dyer, Indiana, with his wife and daughter lovingly by his side.

Skip is survived by his spouse of 59 years: Sharon Komorowski (nee Hibbs); children: Mark (Kim) Komorowski and Mary (Larry) Horwath; grandchildren: Kate (Bo) Dempsey, Matt, Cassidy, Paige, and Connor; great-grandson: Declan; brother: Norman; sister: Julie Pfotenhauer.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Julia; brothers: Joseph, Donald, and Ken; sisters: Caroline Trinowski, Eleanor Cilek, Florence Arnston, and Frances Komorowski.

Skip grew up in Lansing, Illinois, and graduated from St. Ann’s School and TF South. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was the owner of Komo’s for 37 years. He had a love for life, his family, his friends, and a good story.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, old cars, playing cards, bags, and old movies.

He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly.

A private Memorial was held on, Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at St. Ann’s Church in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to St. Jude Hospital or Disabled Veterans
