Eva Weinstein, 85 of Highland, IN passed away on Sunday, April8, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Samuel; children: Irene (Lou) Katz, Michael Weinstein, Barbara Weinstein and Frances (Sean) Yates; grandchildren: Stacey (Gene) Pecar and Daniel Weinstein; many nieces and nephews; Preceded in death by her brothers: Israel, Reuben and Sam Vine; sister: Bertha Krasnow. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with Rabbi Michael Stevens officiating. Interment will be at Rambam Lodge Cemetery, East Haven, CT. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:30-1:30 PM at the funeral home. Eva retired from the Highland School System and was a member of Temple Beth El. She was very active in several community organizations including serving on the boards of Community Concerts and the Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana, Temple Beth El or the American Cancer Society in her memory would be appreciated.
