Florence M. Piekarski, 81 of Schererville, IN. formerly of South Chicago, IL passed away on Monday October 27, 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Joseph A.) Porto Jr; son, Samuel Piekarski; grandchildren, Michael (Rachel) Piekarski, Brian Yarka, Courtney Piekarski and Christopher Porto; great grandson: Jack; sister, Carmella (late John) Sulek, brothers, Frank (late Helen) Strano, Anthony (Bonnie) Miresso and James Miresso; brother in law: Edward Hough; many nieces, nephews, cousins and faithful canine companion, Trudie; preceded in death by her husband, Edward Piekarski, brothers: Andrew and Richard Miresso, sisters, Rosemarie Miresso and Maryann Hough; A Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday October 31, 2008 at 10:00 AM from St. Maria Goretti Church, Dyer, IN; Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL; Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN. and Friday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church; Florence cooked for the priests at Annunciata Church and belonged to Annunciata’s Senior Group; Please omit flowers;
