Frances Sylvia Jastrzab, 94 of Calumet City, IL formerly of Hegewisch, IL passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Loving mother of Dennis (Paula Zambreno) Jastrzab, Kathleen (Robert) Schneider Jr. and Robert Jason; cherished grandmother of Jennifer Jastrzab, Mark Jastrzab, Ryan (Kristen) Jastrzab, Thomas (Christine) Schneider, Susanne (Curtis) Bailey, Peggy (Daniel) Szumski and Mary (Richard) Crowley; caring great grandmother of Troy and Trent Schneider, Zachary and Andrew Szumski, Madeline and Megan Bailey, Jack and Brigid Crowley and Tyler Jastrzab; fond sister of Anne Granich; Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Stanley Jastrzab; siblings, Clara Kolojay, Edward Bartnik, Helen Lawrence, John Bartnik, Eleanore Kasper and Chester Bartnik; great grandchildren, Angel Marie Bailey and Maxwell Raymond Szumski. Funeral service will be on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Victor Church, Calumet City, IL. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a volunteer at Thornton Township Senior Lunches, an Election Judge for many years and a lifetime member of the Polish National Alliance. Frances enjoyed baking cookies and putting them in coffee cans for her grandkids to take to college. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Victor Church Community Meals in her memory would be greatly appreciated.
