Frank M. Grzyb, age 94 of Schererville, IN (formerly of South Chicago Vet’s Park) passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Frank M. Grzyb, age 94 of Schererville, IN (formerly of South Chicago Vet’s Park) passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. He is survived by children, Gloria Bass, Judith (Robert) Gaik, Diane Grzyb and Paul (Judith) Grzyb; grandchildren, Steven (Samantha), David, Bryan (Mallory), Christine (Ethan), Valerie (Patrick), Jeffery (Michelle) and Kevin; great grandchildren, Mason, Cameron, Tyler, Henry, Penelope, Charlotte, Beau, Lincoln, Jaxson, Maverick and Harper. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Casimir and Catherine Grzyb; wife, Severine Grzyb; sister, Florence (Tony) Kosiara; and son-in-law, Douglas Bass.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 DIRECTLY at Sacred Heart Croatian Catholic Church 2864 E. 96th St. Chicago, IL with a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Stephen Bedenikovic. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, IL. Visitation will be on Monday at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Mass.
Frank served in WWII and as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America Local 1033 and retired from Republic Steel after 32 years of service. Frank was an avid Cub’s fan, Vegas card and slot player, dancer and enjoyed the music of Elvis. His greatest passion though was the ability to work on automobiles making this his HUGEST HOBBIE! In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Disabled American Veterans in his memory would be appreciated.
