Frank Machura Sr., 74, of Chicago (Hegewisch), Illinois, passed away July 5, 2015 after a 3-year battle with lung cancer. Frank married the love of his life Kathleen Mosele on September 18, 1965. Frank was a laborer at the Continental Grain Company for 28 years. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 49+ years Kathleen (Mosele) Machura; children, Frank (Linda) Machura Jr. and Christine (Joseph) Paloma; Cherished Papa of Brandon Machura, Emilee Gricus, Sarah Paloma, Samantha Paloma and Caitlyn Machura; sister, Josephine (Jim) Laskarin and brother, Jim (Dottie) Machura; former daughter-in-law: Lynette (Scott) Swets; brother-in-law: Andy (Pam) Mosele, and many nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by his parents: Frank & Lillian Machura, In-laws: Angelo & Mary Mosele, Brother-in-law: Angelo Mosele Jr., Nephew: David Laskarin. Frank earned his Eagle Scout on October 25, 1955, and was a former Scout Master at Paul Price Memorial and St. Florian. Frank was also a Veteran of the U.S. Navy (USS Biddle DDG-5) and served his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, July 9, 2015, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave, Munster, Indiana. Services will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015, with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating. Per Frank’s wishes, cremation to follow.
