Fred was a graduate of Morton High School. He served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a local business owner and community leader. He had a passion for the family business, Van Senus Auto Parts, where he worked with his father and then he operated together with his brother. Fred later proudly opened Vehicle Specialities Inc, which earned the recognition as the SEMA Warehouse Distributor of the year in 1998. Fred always had a passion for the business, racing, cars and the people. He loved people more than anything. He loved to joke, laugh and spend time with family and friends. His beautiful wife, Judy, his children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a hunter and loved spending time on the water fishing, boating or just having a great time with friends. Each fall, Fred looked forward to participating in the weekly NFL pool and watching Sunday Football. In the winter months, Fred spent time at Heritage Bay Country Club in Naples, FL enjoying the sunshine, golf and camaraderie. Locally, he was a member of Woodmar Country Club and later Briar Ridge Country Club. Ultimately, Fred was a larger than life personality who loved his family dearly and cherished his friends who all will miss him tremendously.
Fred lost both his son, Jim, and son-in-law, Brad, to colon cancer and donated annually to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. Donations can be made in his name to the Indianapolis Blue Hope Bash in support of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. Donations will be collected at Kish Funeral Home or may be made online.
