Gene grew up in Hammond, IN and was a long-time resident of Munster, IN and member of St. Thomas More church before moving to North Richland Hills, TX five years ago. He graduated from Hammond High School and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.  He worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Stauffer Chemical Company, Kaiser-Ducett Corporation, J.M. Foster, and Hasse Construction. Gene’s expertise was industrial construction project management that included water filtration plants, coke batteries, pickle lines and rolling mills. He was also a long-term member of the Model A Club and Kiwanis.

Gene will be remembered as an avid sports fan, an antique auto enthusiast, and a loving and grateful husband and father. He was a great supporter of his kids’ involvement in sports and coached many of their teams and could always be found (and heard) in the stands cheering them on.
