George John Lembas, age 71, of Schererville, IN, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Lembas; son, David Lembas; and daughter, Laura Lembas Roberts; grandchildren, Jenna and Curtis Roberts; mother, Felicia Lembas; sisters, Nancy (Donald) Kiran and Linda Brann; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Lembas. Funeral Services will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN followed by 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church 440 Joliet St. Dyer, IN, with Reverend Ted Mauch, officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, IL. Visitation will on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at the funeral home, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 2:00 pm. George was born in Chicago, IL attended St. Florian Grade School and Chicago CVS. He was an avid golfer and was the former owner of Hegewisch Lanes. George was a “huge” Cub’s and Bear’s fan. He loved the outdoors, boating and Green Lake, WI. Georges greatest pastime and love though was his grandchildren Jenna and Curtis.
