George Meyer, 86, of Munster, IN passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009. He is survived by his wife: Marie (nee Mayer); daughters: Kathryn (Farrukh) Siddiqui and Laura Kompier; granddaughter: Olivia (Sarosh Arunkumar) Kompier; great grandchildren: Amatullah and Salahuddin Arunkumar; Preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Grace Meyer; sisters: Helen Carro and Dorothy Meyer; brother: Charles Meyer. A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:30 AM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN. George served in the South Pacific from 1943-1946 with the US Army during World War II; graduated from Eureka College, was a principal and school teacher at Goodfield, IL School District for 2 years, 30 years in Sales and Marketing. Belonged to the Friends of the Library, Past President of the Great Lakes Travel Club, member of the National Office Products Association and Disabled American Veterans; Faith, Family and Friends were the center of his life.
