Gertrude “Gigi” H. Miller, 78 of Michigan City, IN passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 30, 2014. She was preceded in death by her “groom” of 55 years, Robert Miller; daughter, Melody Hickey and brother, Larry Kramer. She is survived by her son, Kelly (Peggy) Miller; daughter, Missy (Ed) Hickey; grandchildren, Ed (Carly) Hickey, Evan Hickey, Tate Hickey, Spencer Hickey, Blair Miller, Melody Miller and Kellyann Miller; great grandchildren, Nathan and Cadence Hickey; brother, Tom (Sue) Kramer; several nieces and nephews, and the many friends who she visited on a daily basis. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Ott-Haverstock Funeral Home, 418 Washington St. Michigan City, IN and on Thursday from 9:30-10:00 Am at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Queen of All Saints Church, 606 South Woodland Ave. Michigan City, IN. Private Interment will be at a later date at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Gigi was born on December 14, 1935 to the late William (Bill) and Marie Kramer. Gigi was a graduate of St Mary’s High School and a lifelong resident of Michigan City. She was a longtime member of Queen of All Saints Church and a Board member at the Arbors in Michigan City. Gigi worked in the Michigan City Assessor's office for many years and was an active member of the LaPorte County and Coolspring Democratic Club. Gigi began her career giving piano lessons to many aspiring students. She faithfully played the piano for years at the local Michigan City nursing homes and in North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Share Foundation or Bishop Noll Institute, in her memory would be appreciated.
