Gloria Joyce (Mays) McDonald, adoring wife of Leland T. McDonald passed away peacefully at 5:51 pm on Saturday, July 4, 2915 at home in Munster, Indiana. Joyce was born in Coffeeville, Mississippi on May 6, 1935 and attended, then graduated from Coffeeville High School where she loved playing basketball with her future sister-in-law, Hollie Field (Boyle) Bell. She is survived by her loving and caring husband Lee, her son, Charles David Bell and his husband, Ismael Lamoru, of Miami, Florida, as well as her step daughter Meredith Palmer and her husband, Fred and their beloved children (Joyce's grandchildren) Brendan and Kendall of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Joyce enjoyed traveling, going to the theatre with Lee, and truly loved spending time with friends and family. And, thanks to the patience of Lee she learned to play golf while enjoying countless hours together at their favorite country club, Lincolnshire, in Crete, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ada Mays also from Coffeeville, Mississippi and her beautiful son Thomas Edward Bell of San Francisco, California, as well as her former husband, Charles Lesley (Junior) Bell of Coffeeville, Mississippi. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. A funeral service celebrating Joyce's life will also be held at Kish Funeral Home on Thursday morning, July 9, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Oakland Memory Lanes in Dolton, Illinois in a plot shared by Daddy II, Mommy II and Tom.
