I was blessed to work as secretary to Harold in our Controller's Dept. group at Standard Oil (Indiana)/Amoco Corp. In my first full-time job, he and others in that group set such a great example that I measure all management by them to this day almost 43 years later. Harold was such a kind, caring, considerate person that I felt more like a daughter, not an employee. We kept up with each other through Christmas cards, and I would occasionally pass on a note of news about others we both remembered. Harold was a valued member of a great "lunch group" of guys who met up every day at work and enjoyed each others' company very much. It saddens me that only one other guy from that group is still living, and I very much regret having to be the one to inform him about this sad news. My most sincere sympathies and prayers are with Harold's family as they go through this difficult time.
