Helen Delnicki, age 95, of Highland, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2025.
Born on May 3, 1930, to Gregorie and Elena Ispas, Helen was a first-generation American, raised in East Chicago Harbor. She graduated from Washington High School in 1948.
Helen was known for her strength, generosity, and wisdom beyond her years. A devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, she cherished time with her family above all else. She was also a gifted cook and loved to share meals and laughter with those around her. In her later years, she traveled the world with her beloved partner, the late Barry Heise.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorie and Elena; her brothers, Nick and George; and her partner, Barry Heise. She is survived by her sister, Mary; her son, Michael; her granddaughter, Elena; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen’s memory will be treasured always by those who loved her.
