Helen E. Thompson (nee Lundquist), 87 of Demotte, IN formerly of Hessville and Hammond, IN passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 7, 1925 to Helen E. (Smith) and Charles Lundquist, both deceased, in Hammond, IN. Helen went to school in Hammond and graduated from Hammond High School in 1944. During World War II she worked as a laboratory assistant at DuPont in East Chicago. On March 2, 1946 she married her husband, James B. Thompson, (deceased) and was happily married for 65 years. Helen was a dedicated mother, grandmother and homemaker, who loved square dancing and round dancing with her husband. Helen and her husband were members of the Wrong Way Squares Dancing Club. Helen is survived by her two sons, Charles (Denise) Thompson and Scott M. (Lisa) Thompson. Grandchildren, Nicole Thompson, Kelly (Milosh) Pujo, Wendy Thompson and Scott Thompson; Sister, Patricia Relinski; Brother, Charles (Cindy) Lundquist and several nieces and nephews; Friends may visit with the family on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior St. Munster, IN 46321.
