Helen Zimmerman, 87 of Munster, IN, a former lifelong resident of Gary, IN, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Leslie), John (Pam), Edward and Joe Zimmerman; grandchildren, Thomas (Rachel Kalom) Zimmerman, Amy (Steven Ryan Auerbach) Zimmerman, Adam Zimmerman and Jennifer (Evan) Nimke; nieces, Georgene (Makivich) Koenig and Pam (Makivich) Burns; She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Peter Zimmerman. Funeral service will be on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 9191 Mississippi St. Merrillville, IN. Interment will be at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. A Memorial Tribute will be held at 7:00 PM during the visitation hours. Helen was a devoted and loving, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Contributions to Hospice of the Calumet Area in her memory would be appreciated.
