Henry P. Soczyk, age 97 of Calumet City, IL passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024.  He is survived by his children, Deborah Stalmack, Gregory Soczyk, Sandra Soczyk and Linda Beck; grandchildren, Todd, Allison, Jessica, Kristina, Casimir, Bradley, Jeffrey and Jonathan; and sister, Bernadette Sadowski.  Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Christine (nee Wrona) Soczyk; and sisters, Leona, Ann, Elizabeth and Loretta.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN.  Entombment will be private.  Visitation will be on Saturday, at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. service.

Henry was a lifetime resident of Calumet City, IL and retired as the Chief of Police from the C.C.P.D.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, member of American Legion Post 330, F.O.P. #1, I.P.A. and the Knights of Columbus.  Henry was an avid golfer as well.

I just saw Hank with Sandy having lunch at The Rivera not long ago. I'm so sorry to hear the news. What a great man to pay tribute too. I asked Hank when I saw him if he remembered my Grandfather Art Blackburn and he said ""Sure, that was a long time ago." Those two men were founding members of the first FOP lodge in the state. That's why Calumet Cities FOP lodge is lodge #1. Indeed a long time ago but not forgotten. RIP Hank. My condolences to the family. I'm sorry that I can't be at the service.
