Howard O. Cyrus

Highland, IN. Howard O. Cyrus, 76 of Highland, IN passed away suddenly and peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, March 22, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ruth; children, Tom Klein, Howard Cyrus Jr, Chris Cyrus, Gregory Klein, Merri Beth Klein, Rob Klein and Sam Cyrus; grandchildren, Kevin, Samantha and Audrey; great grandchildren, Devon and Hayden; sister, Claudia Lewis; sister-in-law, Pauline Cyrus; many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Catherine Cyrus; brother, Robert Cyrus. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, March 24, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 PM with a Service of Remembrance at 7:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Howard was the President of Cyrus Realtors, Inc, Commercial and Industrial Real Estate, Brokerage and Appraiser, Building Management for 42 years. He was a member of the National Association of Realtors, Indiana Association of Realtors, Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors, Greater Northwest Indiana Board of Realtors and Society of Industrial & Office Realtors. He was on the Board of Director of Community Resources, Inc., Advisory Board of Horizon Bank and was Past President of the Hammond Optimist Club. Howard was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and was a U.S. Navy reservist. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or the Humane Society of the Calumet Area, in his memory would be appreciated.
