James David Hoelzeman of Lansing, IL, age 80, passed away suddenly on October 29, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patsy Elaine (nee Crook) Hoelzeman; sons; James (Nancy) Hoelzeman, Michael (Phyllis) Hoelzeman; grandsons, Jason (Cathy) Hoelzeman, Eriksen Hoelzeman; great grandsons, Maynard and Osborn Hoelzeman; siblings, Joseph Hoelzeman, of Morrilton, AR, Helen Burnett of Tulsa, OK, and Nancy Montgomery of Reidsville, NC; sister-in-law, Rita Hoelzeman of Morrilton, AR; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nina Hoelzeman,; daughter, Nina Elaine Hoelzeman; infant grandson, Peter Hoelzeman, baby of Michael and Phyllis, siblings, Carl Hoelzeman, Robert Hoelzeman, Francis Yarberry; brothers-in-law, James Yarberry and Frank Montgomery. Jim was born in Morrilton, AR. He graduated, at the age of 17, from Sacred Heart High School in 1953, after which he moved to the Calumet area. He was a resident of Lansing, IL for the last 30 years. Jim was a member of the Cheyenne, WY Moose Lodge and Indiana Harbor Yacht Club, where he and his wife would play Santa and Mrs. Claus. He loved traveling, which included his trips to Africa, Australia and Europe. Jim especially enjoyed trips with his daughter, Nina Elaine to Germany, Austria and Barcelona, Spain. He also loved spending time at the home he built in Tampa, FL, and seeing the many friends he had there. Jim was a former employee of Inland Steel, where he worked for 14 years. He was the founder of several local businesses. Jim has been enjoying retirement for the last 5 years, with one of his greatest pleasures, riding his Harley Road King and the wind in his hair. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN, with Deacon Phillip Muvich, officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, at the funeral home, from 2:00 pm. until the 7:00 p.m. service. A private burial will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Sacred Heart Cemetery Morrilton, AR.
